A court in Nalchik sentenced Rustam Misostov, sentencing him to five years in a penal colony for leaving his military unit without leave.
According to investigators, on December 14, 2024, during mobilization, Misostov left his unit without valid reason. He was arrested on October 6, 2025, in Kabardino-Balkaria. The serviceman admitted his guilt and expressed regret. However, the court found that Misostov committed a serious crime against military service and sentenced him accordingly.
Previously, the Nalchik Garrison Military Court has repeatedly sentenced contract soldiers and mobilized personnel to prison terms. Specifically, Algiz Valitov received two years in prison, and Timur Yandiev and Amerkhan Kurskiyev received five years. Arsen Baev and Murat Khapov were sentenced to seven and five years in prison, respectively.
