The Nalchik Garrison Military Court found serviceman Akromat Bersanov-Tsaroyev guilty of leaving his unit without leave (Part 5, Article 337 of the Russian Criminal Code). He was sentenced to five years and one month in prison.

In Cherkessk, Jehovah's Witness Vladimir Fomin was sent to a pre-trial detention center in the case of an extremist organization. During the meeting, a believer with a group II disability lost consciousness and had to call an ambulance.
In 2017, the Supreme Court recognized the Management Center of Jehovah's Witnesses as an extremist organization and banned its activities. Many believers were accused of extremism and an attempt on the Constitutional system of the Russian Federation and were sentenced to real and suspended sentences.
The Memorial Human Rights Center considers Jehovah's Witnesses to be political prisoners. They themselves declare that they simply believe in God, read the Bible and are not at all interested in politics.
