The Kremlin commented on Kadyrov’s call to punish relatives of terrorists

Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov believes that the statement of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov about blood feud against the relatives of terrorists refers to those who “connive” such crimes.

“We were talking about those who condone terrorism, who are one way or another, directly or indirectly involved in terrorist activities. No one doubts that the fight against terrorism must be irreconcilable and as tough as possible,” Peskov commented on Kadyrov’s words.

The day before, Kadyrov threatened that in Chechnya the family of a man who attempted to kill a security official would face blood feud.

“Whoever encroaches on a brother policeman must understand that out of blood feud we will kill everyone - father, brother, uncle. I appeal to the Chechen people - know what your children are doing,” Kadyrov said at a meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies, held against the backdrop of the terrorist attacks in Dagestan. According to him, “special emphasis must be placed on countering radical ideology emanating from European countries.”
