In Makhachkala, residents protested due to power outages. According to them, there has been no light in their homes for three days, and officials are not solving the problem.

In Dagestan, citizens regularly protest and block roads due to the lack of basic life support systems. Many residents had their water, gas, and electricity cut off. Thus, on December 12, 2023, more than 16 thousand residents of Makhachkala were left without power supply due to bad weather. At the same time, in more than 40 settlements of Dagestan, 60 thousand people were left without electricity due to an emergency power outage due to wind and snow. The special risk zone includes Makhachkala, as well as Kayakent, Derbent, Khasavyurt, Kumtarkala and Shamil districts of the republic.
