The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized France in connection with the address of the Georgian President

In Paris, they are hysterically looking for a place for a new New Caledonia, choosing between Georgia and Armenia. If France can free anyone, it is the Kanaks from the French yoke. This is what Russian Foreign Ministry representative Zakharova wrote in her TG channel.

Thus, she commented on the appeal of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili to his French colleague Emmanuel Macron with a call to “liberate the Caucasus from Russian influence.”

“Nobody here wants confrontation with the Russian Federation. This is very important for the future and security of Europe. Here is the Black Sea, an energy and transport transit zone. The fact that France is not present here is absurd. I wrote to President Macron that I am waiting for him on Georgia’s Independence Day, May 26,” Zurabishvili said in an interview with La Tribune.

On May 15, France declared a state of emergency and deployed police forces to New Caledonia, a French island territory in the Pacific Ocean. Protests there began on May 13 in response to the summing up of voting results in the French parliament. Deputies have proposed amendments to the New Caledonian constitution that would expand the voting rights of French people living on the islands.
