In Nalchik, the management of a sanatorium is on trial for infecting patients with HIV

A criminal case against three employees of the private sanatorium "Medis" in Nalchik has been sent to court. In the dock are the director of the institution Ruslan Ozrokov, neurologist Mukhadin Uzdenov and nurse Marianna Aloyeva. They are accused of violating sanitary standards, which led to the mass infection of people.

According to the investigation, due to disregard for the rules, five patients were infected with HIV and 71 - with hepatitis C. At risk are 272 people from different regions of Russia. This is due to the use of non-sterile instruments and disposable products.

The victims note that the management of the sanatorium denied the problem, and local authorities did not provide adequate support. Some patients are forced to pay for treatment at their own expense, buying expensive drugs.
