A criminal case has been brought to court against an activist from Dagestan who condemned the war in Ukraine

A criminal case against 23-year-old activist from Dagestan Ulker Gashimova has been transferred to the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don. She is accused of public calls for terrorist and extremist activities.

Previously, Ulker Gashimova was placed in pre-trial detention center No. 1 of Makhachkala. She spoke out in support of Ukraine and for the independence of the peoples of the Russian Federation. The girl is also accused of calling for violation of the territorial integrity of Russia. The reason was publications that part of Dagestan historically belongs to Azerbaijan.
 
Initially, a court in Moscow arrested Gashimova for 10 and then 15 days under the article on disobedience to the demands of a government official when crossing the state border. She tried to fly abroad from Sheremetyevo Airport to Belgrade in order to request political asylum in the Netherlands during the transfer. After her arrest, she was sent by plane to Dagestan.
