In Tyumen, nationalists shouted anti-migrant slogans

In the center of Tyumen, next to the building of the Union of Armenians of the Tyumen Region, a group of guys shouted xenophobic slogans against migrants: “Russia is for Russians, Tyumen is not for Khachi.”

Local youth marched with their faces covered in the center of Tyumen along Republic Street.

Xenophobic sentiments are also observed in other cities of the Russian Federation. So, in Murino, Leningrad region, a people's squad appeared. Improvised troops, consisting of local men, decided to fight against non-Slavic visitors to the city. To combat migrants, the people's squad uses pepper spray. Patrols are carried out regularly using walkie-talkies.

Today marks the 81st anniversary of the deportation of the Meskhetian Turks. In November 1944, on Stalin's orders, approximately 86,000 Meskhetian Turks were forcibly deported from Meskheti (a region in modern-day Georgia) to Central Asia. This deportation resulted in the deaths of 17,000 people, and the survivors found new homes in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
