A park of the Chechen battalion named after Sheikh Mansur appeared in Ukraine

In the urban village of Okny, Podolsky district, Odessa region, a park has been renamed. It is named after the volunteer Chechen battalion named after Sheikh Mansur.

In October 2023, a memorial named after Sheikh Mansour was opened in the Ukrainian Krivoy Rog. In addition, in the village of Kamenskoye, Dnepropetrovsk region, the battalion of the same name opened a memorial stand in memory of its fallen soldiers.
 
Sheikh Mansur is the leader of the people's liberation movement of the highlanders of the North Caucasus in the second half of the 19th century. The Chechen unit named after him has been taking part in the defense of Ukraine since 2014. Supporters of Ichkeria's independence are also fighting there.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported a successful operation against personnel of the Russian "Akhmat" unit in the Sumy region from February to April 2026. As a result, according to the GUR website, the unit suffered its most significant losses since the beginning of the conflict: 41 people were killed and 87 were wounded. In addition, more than 100 members of the unit went missing.
