EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs supported Georgia

EU High Commissioner for International Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell shared his impressions of his meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili. He noted that there was a good exchange of views on the country's European future before the next meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council. Borrell also emphasized that the EU supports the choice of the Georgian people as a democratic country on their way to the European Union.

The day before, in Switzerland, at the peace summit on Ukraine, Salome Zurabishvili held meetings with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, the President of Moldova Maia Sandu, the head of the Council of Europe Charles Michel, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and also made a speech at the peace summit.

Ambassadors of EU member states agreed on the framework for accession negotiations between Ukraine and Moldova. The President of Georgia congratulated these countries and expressed hope that her country will soon join the ranks of EU member states.
