Azerbaijani authorities reported the arrest of suspected terrorists planning an attack on the Israeli embassy

 

The State Security Service of Azerbaijan (SSS) reported that it had thwarted an attempted terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in Baku.

As a result of investigative measures, the Azerbaijani citizens were detained. According to investigators, Ilgar Guliyev, Amin Piriyev, and Elvin Alizade, acting on religious hatred and contacting members of ISIS-Khorasan (the Afghan branch of ISIS), planned to commit a terrorist attack. They were detained as they approached the embassy building, and items intended to be used as weapons were seized from them.

The detainees are currently in pretrial detention, and the investigation is ongoing.
