The authorities of Dagestan turned to Moscow because of the systemic power outage and the discontent of the inhabitants

The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, sent a request to the Russian government for help with the restoration of electricity supply. Abnormal heat in Makhachkala knocked out several transformers. People were left without electricity and water. After three days, local authorities did not take any action, so residents took to the streets and blocked one of them.

The head of the region said that such "forms of dialogue" are a violation of the law and will be suppressed in the future. Melikov clarified that there is a program to improve the reliability of power grids in Dagestan, activities in it are planned until 2025. However, today it is necessary to finance the work to prevent an emergency.
