Georgian authorities have linked a possible assassination attempt on Ivanishvili to Trump and Fico

The assassination attempt on the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, was prepared by the same global forces that tried to kill US presidential candidate Donald Trump and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated this at a briefing for journalists.

“The information about the impending assassination attempt is truly outrageous. Recently, one of the European Commissioners warned me about a possible terrorist attack, this is not surprising, because no one likes the politics of Georgia. In all this, the role of former Georgian officials who are now in Ukraine is revealed. Ivanishvili is the guarantor of peace and development in our country; it is not surprising that he was the recipient of such an act. Recently, there have been two terrorist attacks in the USA and Slovakia; this is a common pattern characteristic of the same global political forces. Of course, this danger is also relevant for Georgia,” shared Irakli Kobakhidze.

Georgian intelligence services announced an investigation into the preparation of the murder of Ivanishvili by former representatives of the Georgian government who now live in Ukraine.

“The State Security Service is investigating the facts of preparations for the murder of the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, organized and financed by former high-ranking officials of Georgia and former law enforcement officers located in Ukraine. The purpose of the mentioned criminal actions is to overthrow state power by violent means by destructive forces against the backdrop of creating unrest and weakening power,” the department’s release says.
