Two people were injured in the incident, both of whom were hospitalized. The North Ossetia branch of the Russian Interior Ministry has opened a criminal case, and one of the individuals involved has been detained.
According to police, the conflict occurred on Saturday night and escalated into a brawl. One of the participants used a non-lethal firearm. The investigation is looking into several potential charges, including the infliction of bodily harm and illegal weapons possession. The underlying cause of the conflict has not been officially disclosed.
Reports regarding Islamov’s injury appeared on the Telegram channels Mash Gor, Shot, and Baza, citing their own sources. Mash Gor and Shot report that the athlete is currently in intensive care, while Baza describes his condition as moderate.
Local Telegram channels claim the altercation took place near the "360" restaurant, located within the Hilton hotel. According to reports circulating online, Islamov and his acquaintances had previously gotten into an argument with a local resident. Some posts suggest the conflict may have stemmed from a disagreement involving a woman, though there has been no official confirmation of this version of events.
Islamov is 27 years old; he was born in Sernovodsk and resides in Moscow. In June 2025, the athlete became involved in a dispute at the "Lyublinsky Park" residential complex in Moscow, after members of the nationalist movement "Russian Community" demanded an apology from a young man who had been dancing the Lezginka with his sister in the complex's courtyard. According to local residents, the nationalists also detained children who had come to watch the events unfold, refusing to let them leave until the police arrived.
Following the incident, Ibrahim Islamov personally visited the residential complex and recorded a video message addressed to representatives of the "Russian Community" (Russkaya Obshchina). He proposed a meeting to discuss what had happened, with law enforcement officials in attendance.
