Dagestan's Deputy Minister of Education Faces Up to 15 Years for Large-Scale Bribery

The investigation against Khalid Nurmagomedov, former Deputy Minister of Education of Dagestan, has been completed and sent to the prosecutor's office. He is accused of systematically accepting bribes totaling over 60 million rubles between 2013 and 2023.

The investigation established that Nurmagomedov accepted bribes from a representative of a commercial company for assistance in securing government contracts for renovation and construction work at educational institutions. Specifically, he received 60 million rubles for facilitating the conclusion of 15 contracts.

The prosecutor is yet to approve the indictment. Nurmagomedov faces up to 15 years in prison for accepting a bribe on an especially large scale.
