On September 14, the Court of Appeals of Georgia began reviewing the case concerning the events of October 4, 2025, when participants in an opposition protest allegedly attempted to bring about a "peaceful transfer of power." The majority of those convicted in the case are opposition politicians.
Georgian security forces who shot a Chechen in Pankisi will not be punished
Georgian authorities have refused to resume the investigation into the murder of ethnic Chechen Temirlan Machalikashvili. He was mortally wounded by security forces in 2017 during a special operation in the Pankisi Gorge. Previously, human rights activists pointed to a number of violations on the part of the investigation and the prosecutor’s office, which could have been intentional. More details in our video.
