During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
The Investigative Committee has completed the investigation of the criminal case against Toimaskhan Adzhinyazov and Kaitarbi Nasyrov from the Stavropol Territory. They were detained in May 2022 and accused of attacking military personnel during the second Russian-Chechen war.
According to investigators, the accused, as part of the detachments of field commanders Shamil Basayev and Khattab, attacked federal servicemen in August 1999 in the Botlikh region of Dagestan. As a result, 33 soldiers were killed and another 34 people were injured.
The defendants are accused under Part 2 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (banditry), Art. 279 (armed rebellion) and art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attack on the life of a law enforcement officer).
