A resident of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic was sentenced to 20 years for planning a terrorist attack against the FSB

In Rostov-on-Don, a military court found a resident of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, Akhmat Dzhanibekov, guilty of involvement in the activities of an organization recognized as terrorist and preparing a terrorist attack against the FSB department for Karachay-Cherkessia. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Dzhanibekov was detained on October 5, 2023, in Karachay-Cherkessia. The investigation claims that he made contact with a member of the Islamic State and received from him an assignment to commit a terrorist attack in the Malokarachayevsky District. He was also given instructions on how to create homemade explosive devices. According to the prosecution, the target of the terrorist attack was the building of the FSB department. Before his detention, Dzhanibekov allegedly managed to make an explosive substance and assemble an explosive device, which he kept.

Akhmat Dzhanibekov is a 31-year-old native of the village of Uchkeken. His data as an extremist was added to the Rosfinmonitoring list on November 1, 2023.
