Crimean resident sentenced to 20 years for planning murder of FSB officer

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Crimean resident Artur Agasaryan to 20 years in prison. He was found guilty of treason, preparing for a terrorist attack, and trafficking in explosives.

According to investigators, in 2023, Agasaryan, on instructions from an unnamed intelligence officer of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, watched an FSB officer in Kerch. Then, together with an accomplice, he purchased components for making a homemade explosive device for the purpose of attempting to kill the security officer. In addition, according to investigators, Agasaryan conducted "covert visual surveillance and video recording" of cargo movement on the railway, including military cargo.

In the same case, Krasnodar Krai resident Alexey Vasyutin was sentenced to six years in prison. He is charged with illegally acquiring, storing, and trafficking explosives.
