Adam Kadyrov, the 18-year-old son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, has been named an "honorary citizen" of Kurchaloy district. It is the latest in a series of awards and honorary titles received by the head of Chechnya's son, who has accumulated dozens of distinctions since autumn 2023.

The award was announced by the Chechen Security Council, which is headed by Adam Kadyrov. The council described the title as "well-deserved recognition of responsible work, dedication to the interests of the republic and services to the residents of Kurchaloy district". It did not specify what those services consisted of.

This is not the first honorary citizenship awarded to the Chechen leader's son. In October 2025, he was named an honorary citizen of Nadterechny district. The medal was presented at the opening of the Dustum sports complex in the village of Gvardeyskoye, which is named after Adam Kadyrov himself.

Adam Kadyrov began receiving numerous awards in autumn 2023, shortly after a video emerged showing him beating Nikita Zhuravel, a man accused of burning a copy of the Quran, at a detention centre in Grozny. He was subsequently awarded his first title of Hero of Chechnya.

In June 2026, Ramzan Kadyrov awarded his son the title of Hero of Chechnya for a second time. Chechen authorities cited his "outstanding services to the state", service to the people and support for Russia's war in Ukraine. The Chechen leader's eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov, was awarded the title of Hero of Chechnya for the first time on Aug. 7.

Ramzan Kadyrov has said his son received all of his awards for specific achievements and has described him as "a remarkable young man".

According to calculations by Kavkaz.Realii, between February 2022 and August 2025, Ramzan Kadyrov and 29 of his close relatives received at least 146 awards and other distinctions. Ramzan Kadyrov himself received at least 31, while Adam ranked second among members of the family by the number of awards.

Among Adam Kadyrov's distinctions is the "Defender of the Chechen Republic" medal, presented to him in August 2025 during a tactical shooting championship, although he did not take part in the competition. In May 2026, he also received a medal for his contribution to Russia's war in Ukraine.

In the summer, Adam Kadyrov received an award from Russia's State Traffic Inspectorate shortly after a video was published showing him violating traffic rules. The footage showed him driving at roughly 2.5 times the speed limit, crossing a double solid line and using a mobile phone while driving.

In January, reports also emerged of a road accident involving Adam Kadyrov's motorcade in Grozny. According to sources cited at the time, he and several people accompanying him were injured. Ramzan Kadyrov first commented on the reports on Feb. 9, dismissing media accounts of the crash as a "fabrication".
