Georgia and Azerbaijan are striving to simplify border crossings: the parties plan to introduce a single-window system at joint border crossings.

Murad Shuaibov, who was found dead in Karelian correctional colony No. 7 in Segezha, was subjected to torture, said lawyer Asad Jafirov. This happened in IK-9 of Petrozavodsk.
“According to Murad, he was beaten, doused with water and locked in a cell. There was a big scandal, and the leaders of IK-9 were later sentenced to real terms. When Shuaibov was recently transferred to IK-7 in Segezha, there were no prerequisites for suicide, and he was not sick,” the lawyer noted.
According to Jafirov, a cassation appeal against Shuaibov’s sentence was recently filed with the Judicial Collegium for Military Personnel of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. Four days before his death, he had another lawyer, whom he asked about the cassation appeal, when its hearing was scheduled, etc.
Let us remind you that Murad Shuaibov was found dead in Karelian correctional colony No. 7 in Segezha. In 2019, he was sentenced to 23 years on charges of murdering the founder of the Dagestan newspaper Chernovik, Khadzhimurad Kamalov.
In 2022, the Southern District Military Court handed down a verdict. Former Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan Shamil Isaev, who is believed to have ordered the crime, received 16 years in prison, the alleged perpetrators Murad Shuaibov, Magomed Khazamov and Magomed Abigasanov received 23 years, 24 years and 16 years, respectively. The investigation considered that Shamil Isaev decided to kill Khadzhimurad Kamalov because he was preventing him from making a political career with his publications. The brother of the deceased, Magdi Kamalov, stated at the trial that all those convicted, except Abigasanov, had nothing to do with the murder. In addition, defense witnesses reported alibis for the alleged perpetrators.
