Russian citizen and billionaire Samvel Karapetyan, owner of the Tashir Group, will remain in custody for another 30 days. A Yerevan court has extended his pretrial detention.

According to lawyer Ramzan Uzuyev, the defendants in two criminal cases under investigation in Kabardino-Balkaria became victims of security forces. We are talking about Salikh Osmanov and Kazbek Emkuzhev. The defense attorney claimed that the cases were fabricated in order to improve reporting.
In the fall of 2023, the Supreme Court of the KBR sentenced Salikh Osmanov to 9 years in a strict regime colony. He was found guilty of preparing sabotage, as well as of a negative attitude towards the "SVO" and the authorities of the Russian Federation. The man did not admit guilt, stating that the case was falsified and pressure was put on him.
One of the pieces of evidence was correspondence on a phone that allegedly belonged to the accused. In the correspondence, according to the prosecution, the man expressed a negative attitude towards the "special operation" in Ukraine. Salikh Osmanov does not admit guilt and claims that the security forces planted the phone on him during the search. In addition, according to the investigation, Salikh Osmanov and two accomplices were preparing a sabotage near the railway bridge over the Lenin Canal in the Prokhladnensky District. Ramzan Uzuyev, who represented his interests in court, called the case an "execution" legalized during the investigation, the Slovo Zashchity project reported. The lawyer also noted that the deaths of two other defendants in the case - Yusup Kudayev and Asker Karmokov, killed during the operation to prevent sabotage - were not investigated.
As for Kazbek Emkuzhev, according to Uzuyev, he was kidnapped and tortured, accused of participating in a terrorist organization. His case was initially handled by the same investigator as Osmanov's case. Kazbek's mother managed to get her son's disappearance investigated: then he suddenly appeared in the investigator's office - in the status of an accused.
