Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on Ukraine's Independence Day, expressing his warmest wishes to the Ukrainian people. He stressed that relations between the two countries are based on historical ties, friendship and mutual respect and continue to strengthen in various areas, including the economy and energy.
Aliyev noted mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries. He expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation and wished Zelensky health and success, and peace and prosperity to Ukraine.
"Azerbaijan will continue to provide the necessary humanitarian support and assistance to the friendly Ukrainian people," Aliyev's message says.
