The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Artur Sargsyan, Armenia's acting chargé d'affaires, to deliver an official statement protesting the "unfriendly steps" of the Armenian side. The basis for this action was statements by Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, who asserted that his country "should not become a province and be governed like Belarus."
A peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku could be signed within a few months. Active work on the document is currently underway. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced this at the Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi.
“The Crossroads of the World project proposed by Armenia will become an integral part of peace in the South Caucasus. A unit is being created in the law enforcement agencies of Armenia to ensure the security of future transport communications in the region,” Pashinyan shared. Also, according to him, positive progress may soon occur towards opening the border with Turkey for citizens of third countries and diplomats. The politician noted that the functioning of the Armenian-Turkish border will benefit the overall regional situation.
