On Wednesday, February 25, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in Warsaw for a two-day official visit. He began the day with a meeting with his Polish counterpart, Donald Tusk, after which he posted a video. In the video, which quickly went viral on social media, Donald Tusk makes a "heart" with his fingers—the Armenian leader's signature gesture.
Armenia has sent a request to the European Union for a rapid response team to protect the country from possible Russian interference in the upcoming parliamentary elections. This was reported by Radio Liberty, which has been designated by Russia as an "undesirable organization."
According to the media corporation, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan sent a letter to Brussels on February 13 requesting Yerevan to provide a "rapid response team to counter Kremlin disinformation and Russian interference in the parliamentary elections."
The European Union is reportedly planning to initially deploy a "hybrid rapid response team" to combat disinformation, and may subsequently send a more permanent civilian mission. The EU previously deployed a similar team of approximately 20 people to Chisinau during the parliamentary elections in Moldova.
The Armenian side responded swiftly: Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan did not deny the publication, noting that her comment of December 15 last year "is fully relevant today."
"Armenia continues to cooperate in strengthening democratic resilience," she emphasized.
In December 2025, EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas reported that Armenia had asked the Union for support "in the fight against malign influence, similar to the one we exerted on Moldova."
According to her, as part of this initiative, the EU plans to allocate €15 million to counter Russian propaganda.
