Armenia has refused the services of Russian border guards
From 2025, Russian border guards will stop serving at the checkpoints on the Armenian-Iranian border. This was reported by the Armenian government. Such an agreement was reached in Moscow during a meeting between Russian President Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

In July, after 32 years of service, Russian border guards left Yerevan's Zvartnots airport. Earlier, the Armenian authorities announced the suspension of membership in the pro-Russian CSTO bloc, as well as the country's desire to become a candidate for joining the EU. In addition, Armenia held military exercises jointly with the United States and increased purchases of weapons and military equipment from European countries and India.

Armenia is ready to provide Azerbaijan with a transport route to Nakhchivan on the same terms as Iran does. Pashinyan said this the day before during a speech at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Moscow. He also said that Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan in October.
