A car with two men fell into the Sunzha River in Chechnya: one has been found, the search for the other continues

In Chechnya, rescuers have recovered a car from the bottom of the Sunzha River, which was in the water along with two people. One of the occupants has been found, and the search for the other is ongoing. Footage of the rescue operation appeared on local social media groups on August 24.

The video shows the overturned car being pulled from the river with a crane. Rescuers in an inflatable boat are working near the car. Residents of Ingushetia have joined the search.

It is unknown why the car ended up in the water or where exactly the accident occurred. A detailed official statement from emergency services regarding the cause of the accident and the condition of the man found is not yet publicly available.

The car contained two residents of Gudermes, born in 1966 and 1983. The creators of the video are drawing attention to the fate of one of the victims. According to them, this man, shortly before the tragedy, had participated in the search for missing people and assisted rescuers on the water in Ingushetia. This information has not yet been independently confirmed.

Earlier this summer, a large-scale search and rescue operation was launched in Ingushetia following the disappearance of eight-year-old Khizir Derbichev on the Sunzha River. Rescuers and volunteers from Chechnya joined the search, and the total number of participants numbered in the hundreds and thousands. The boy's body was found after several days of searching.

Rescuers are currently continuing to search the scene and the river. It remains unknown whether the identity of the missing person has been established or when the search for the second person will be completed.
