Opposition figure Gulu Mammadli stated that the arrest of Ali Karimli, leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), was expected, but the reasons go beyond simple criticism of the authorities. According to Mammadli, Karimli's publications in major Western media have increased his political significance and visibility abroad, which has caused concern among the Azerbaijani authorities.
A convoy of 25 trucks with the next batch of electrical equipment was sent from the Sumgait Technological Park to Ukraine. The cargo includes electrical cables, as well as 26 sets of transformer substations.
Previously, Azerbaijan has repeatedly supplied cable products to Ukraine, which are necessary to restore energy supply in the affected areas.
In addition, a meeting between the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Klimenko and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Mardaliev took place in Kyiv. The issue of exchanging experience on humanitarian mine clearance was discussed. “The support of our country by the government of Azerbaijan is palpable,” Klimenko noted, adding that Ukraine remembers the assistance provided by Azerbaijan to eliminate the consequences of the explosion at the Kakhovka hydroelectric station.
