Azerbaijan spoke in favor of the creation of a Palestinian state
Azerbaijan supports the Palestinian people's struggle for statehood. This was announced by the country's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
“Azerbaijan is a supporter of resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in accordance with international law and UN Security Council resolutions based on the two-state principle with the capital of the Palestinian state in East Jerusalem,” Bayramov said.
Azerbaijan, through the UN Middle East Agency, has allocated $1.6 million to support Palestinian refugees. In addition, Baku called for an urgent de-escalation and cessation of hostilities between Israel and Palestine.
