The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is based on the fundamental principles of free movement of goods, services, labor, and capital. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reiterated this in a conversation with journalists. He stated that the absence of this free exchange calls into question the very existence of the EAEU.
Zamin Salayev, an activist of the opposition Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, was transferred from a pre-trial detention center to a medical institution of the Ministry of Justice after he fell into a coma. He has been on a hunger strike for 98 days and has improved since his hospitalization. At the same time, Salaev intends to continue the hunger strike.
A criminal case was initiated against the political prisoner under the article on hooliganism and the use of force. Salaev considers his arrest an order and a consequence of criticism of the authorities. The US Embassy in Baku called on the authorities to release him and other political prisoners.
The mother of the imprisoned member of the Muslim Union movement, Abbas Hussein, held a rally near the Presidential Administration in Baku demanding to stop torturing her son. He is regularly put in a punishment cell. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of terrorism, illegal possession of weapons, and an attempt to forcibly change the constitutional order. Like other members of the Union of Muslims, Hussein was recognized as a political prisoner.
