Russian Ministry of Defense: Azerbaijani troops shot Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh

On September 20, while returning from an observation post of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the area of ​​the village of Dzhanyatag, a car containing Russian military personnel came under small arms fire. The Russian servicemen in the car died. This is stated in a message from the Russian Ministry of Defense. Investigators from the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan are working on the spot.

“There are no grounds to talk about ethnic cleansing in Karabakh,” said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Peskov. He added that “Karabakh is an internal matter of Azerbaijan.”
