Baku reminded Armenia again about the obstacles to concluding a peace treaty
France is one of the main forces behind the militarization of Armenia. This hinders the conclusion of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku. This statement was made by the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev.

"We regret that France, contrary to international law, is participating in the militarization program of Armenia. Armenia is an occupier and an aggressor. Therefore, its militarization is a responsible issue," he stressed, adding that Armenia has deadly weapons transferred by France.

Hajiev also noted that the EU mission on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border must be completed.

Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov named two main obstacles to peace between Baku and Yerevan.

"One of the key obstacles to signing a peace agreement is the territorial claims against Azerbaijan contained in the Constitution of Armenia. The second is that the members of the Armenian delegation at the negotiating table speak from different positions,” Mamedov said.

He also said that the winning side in a war rarely offers peace to the losing side, but Azerbaijan has taken steps in this direction.
