Bekkhan Barakhoyev said he was not involved in the assassination attempt on Kadyrov

State Duma deputy from Ingushetia Bekkhan Barakhoyev said that he was in no way connected with the preparation of the assassination attempt on the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov.

"Allah Almighty is my witness. I have nothing to do with this and never have," the deputy said.

Earlier, State Duma deputy from Dagestan Rizvan Kurbanov, who is undergoing treatment abroad, recorded a video message in which he also denied his involvement in the preparation of the assassination attempt on Kadyrov.

"I officially declare that I have never participated in the preparation of the assassination attempt on the life of the respected Kadyrov Ramzan Akhmatovich. And the Almighty is my witness. I have always had and continue to have deep respect for the Kadyrov family. Ever since the time when I was very close friends with Akhmat-Khadzhi. I am sure that the time will come and justice will prevail. And those scoundrels who are bringing in these discords today, who are trying to slander today, they will suffer the punishment they deserve,” said Kurbonov.

On October 9, Ramzan Kadyrov accused Senator Suleiman Kerimov, as well as Barakhoev and Kurbonov, of ordering his murder. The Chechen leader declared blood feud against them if they do not prove their innocence.

Queues at Verkhny Lars border crossing emerge amid rumours of a new mobilisation in Russia
15 August 2026

Queues remain at the Russian-Georgian border following temporary restrictions on traffic through the Verkhny Lars crossing. The situation has drawn additional attention amid rumours circulating in Russia about a possible new mobilisation, recalling the autumn of 2022, when large numbers of men eligible for military service left the country through the crossing. There is no official evidence linking the current restrictions to any mobilisation measures.
