Financier who fled Georgia said he had dirt on Ivanishvili
The day before, it became known that Giorgi Bachiashvili, the former financier of billionaire founder Bidzina Ivanishvili, had fled Georgia. The founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party accuses Bachiashvili of stealing bitcoins, the value of which reached $39 million. The trial in this case has been going on since 2023: at that time, the accused was banned from leaving the country, and the bail amounted to 2.5 million lari.

Bachiashvili explains his successful escape across the border with Armenia by the corrupt system and mass protests that distract the security forces.

“I used holes in the system and the people between them,” Bachiashvili admitted.

The fugitive said that he is safe and has dirt on Bidzina Ivanishvili. First of all, according to him, the United States will find out about everything.

“Whatever information I have, I will definitely use it to expose him, this information has long been taken out of the country. They don’t even know what I’m holding in my hands,” Bachiashvili said on the “Reaction” program.

He noted that Georgia no longer has any leverage over him, since he managed to take his family out of the country.

Following today’s hearing, the court arrested Giorgi Bachiashvili in absentia in the case of illegal border crossing. Since the decision was made, he has been wanted in Georgia. In addition, law enforcement agencies have reported the beginning of the procedure for putting him on the international wanted list.

According to the investigation, Bachiashvili crossed the Georgian-Armenian border, “using a hiding place in the car,” after which, already on the Armenian side, he presented a Russian passport. It is reported that Bidzina Ivanishvili’s former financier is currently in a third country.
