Kadyrov’s close associate once again heads the Chechen government; his son and son-in-law retain deputy prime minister posts

On October 8, the Chechen parliament approved the nomination of Magomed Daudov as Chairman of the Republic's Government. The session was attended by the Head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.

Daudov, known as a close associate of Kadyrov, had led the Chechen parliament for nearly nine years. He assumed that post in July 2015 and stepped down early on May 15, 2024. Ten days later, Daudov was appointed Chairman of the Republic's Government.

At today's session, Ramzan Kadyrov described Daudov as one of the "most outstanding and effective members of the team" of his father, Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov, and highlighted his experience in government service.

In addition to Daudov’s nomination, lawmakers approved the appointments of deputy prime ministers and heads of various government agencies. Among them is the Chechen leader’s eldest son, Akhmat Kadyrov, who was confirmed as a Deputy Prime Minister of Chechnya. Furthermore, Viskhan Matsuev—the husband of the Chechen leader’s eldest daughter, Aishat Kadyrova—was reappointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture.
