Bosnia and Herzegovina will not deport a Chechen refugee
The Tuzla court in Bosnia and Herzegovina has refused to extradite Chechen native Selima Khadisova to Russia. In addition, she will be released from custody. The authorities of the state in southeastern Europe ruled that Moscow did not provide the necessary documents for the extradition of the refugee.
Earlier, protests against the extradition of Selima Khadisova took place in front of the Bosnia and Herzegovina embassy in Vienna. Participants stated that if this happens, the woman will face violations of her rights, torture and even death.
At the end of September, Selima Khadisova was detained at the Sarajevo airport on a flight from Turkey along with three minor children. The request from Moscow stated that the woman allegedly went to Syria in 2015, where she was trained in a terrorist camp, and then joined the Islamic State and fought in the fighting. Khadisova herself denied all the accusations. According to her, she lived in Turkey and had never been to Syria.
