Former Prime Minister of Dagestan sentenced to 13 years in prison

The Izmailovsky District Court of Moscow sentenced former Prime Minister of Dagestan Abdusamid Gamidov to 13 years in a maximum security prison. In addition, he will have to pay a fine of 12 million rubles. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction on their Telegram channel.

According to investigators, in 2014, Gamidov received a bribe from the former head of the "Directorate of the State Customer-Developer" Shamil Kadiev for general patronage.

Abdusamid Gamidov was appointed Prime Minister of Dagestan in 2013. He is currently serving a sentence for corruption crimes. In 2018, he was detained and sent to Moscow along with two deputies and the former Minister of Education of Dagestan on suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds. In October 2019, Gamidov was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for embezzlement of more than 40 million rubles. Taking into account the new verdict, the former prime minister will spend another 13 years behind bars.

Kadiev was sentenced to 15 years in prison and a fine of 16 million rubles.
