Former Georgian President Accuses Russian Authorities of Attempting to Divide Society

Speaking on the 35th anniversary of the independence referendum, former Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili stated that Russia continues to attempt to divide Georgian society. According to her, "the Russian regime in Georgia" is actively hindering national unity, preventing citizens from understanding the country's future.

Zurabishvili compared the current situation to the time of first President Zviad Gamsakhurdia, when the country's people faced a choice: "Russia or Georgia?" She called for a collective response: "No to Russia! Yes to Georgia!", emphasizing that division is Russia's main ally.

"Russia is trying in every way, from every angle, to divide us, and the Russian regime in Georgia is doing everything it can to prevent unity, to prevent the will of the people from being realized, to prevent us from seeing the direction in which Georgia should move. Therefore, today, we must respond." The answer is already being given by young people who are in prison today, telling us from there that our future lies in unity and a shared response: no Russia! Yes, Sakartvelo! " Salome Zurabishvili declared.
