Opposition movement members report kidnapping of their relatives in Chechnya

Activists of the NIYSO movement reported that Chechen security forces kidnapped six of their relatives. This happened after members of the organization published material about the body of a teenager killed in an attack on a traffic police post being put on display in the city of Achkhoy-Martan the day before.

“We managed to learn about the kidnapping of the following people: Abubakirov Saidrakhman, Abubakirov Saidpasha, Abubakirov Iznaur, Duduyev Yahya, Tankiev Askhab, Mustafinov Mukhammad (he had already been kidnapped in the past). As we can see, even the 73-year-old father of Said-Ali Varando was not spared,” NIYSO wrote.

The activists emphasized that they were not surprised by this.

“We know their nature. Even if tomorrow they boil our relatives alive, we will not be surprised,” the activists shared.

Earlier, the Chechen channel NIYSO published a video of residents of Achkhoy-Martan gathered in the square in front of the body of a 17-year-old teenager thrown on the ground.

Recall that on April 7 in Achkhoy-Martan, a local resident attacked a traffic police post with a knife. Two police officers were injured, one of them subsequently died. The attacker was eliminated by return fire. A criminal case was opened on the fact of the incident under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers. In addition, the Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov ordered the eviction from the region of all relatives of persons involved in the crime, including the relatives of the murdered man, and the seizure of their property.
