Tens of thousands of Armenians from Russia and other countries applied for citizenship of their historical homeland.

The number of returnees to Armenia from other countries is growing steadily. This was reported in the office of the Diaspora Commissioner.
Only last year, 10,000 applications were submitted, and more than 25,000 Armenians applied for citizenship. This is an unprecedented figure, noted in the office of the Diaspora Commissioner. Applications come mostly from Russia, as well as from Ukraine.
The flow from Syria and Lebanon also continues. Over the past four years, compatriots from 40 to 45 countries had applied for Armenian nationality, most of them coming to their permanent place of residence.
