Utility debts in Ingushetia have exceeded 22 billion rubles. Authorities are discussing "radical measures"

In Ingushetia, debts for gas, electricity, and water have accumulated to more than 22 billion rubles. The head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, described the situation as serious and stated that "radical measures" would be required to improve payment collection.

Kalimatov discussed the problem at a working meeting with Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sergey Nazarov. According to the regional governor, the debt is already preventing utility companies from repairing and modernizing their networks.

"This is an issue that concerns every resident and the entire republic," Kalimatov stated.

Authorities are relying on more than just calls for timely payment. The republic is conducting an inventory of nearly 60,000 personal accounts, 57,347 of which belong to residents.

At the same time, utility companies are investigating cases of illegal connections and unauthorized consumption.
In July alone, according to authorities, 14 illegal consumption facilities were identified among legal entities. Consumers were assessed additional fees of approximately 50 million rubles.

Furthermore, the authorities have decided to simplify the payment process for residents: 40 additional terminals have been installed, online interaction with Sberbank is being developed, and a unified payment document is planned.

Municipalities have been instructed to strengthen payment collection monitoring and report on their results quarterly.

Meanwhile, Kalimatov appealed to residents to pay their arrears and pay their utility bills on time. According to him, payment discipline is crucial to the ability of utility companies to repair networks, improve service quality, and develop infrastructure.
