The Azerbaijan Press Council has condemned reports in certain Russian media outlets that, according to the organization, contain insults and threats directed at the country, its citizens, its leadership, and prominent public figures.
Overnight into August 18, drones attacked several regions in southern Russia. Russian authorities reported that hundreds of drones were shot down but did not report any damage or casualties in the Rostov, Krasnodar, and Volgograd regions.
Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar stated that approximately 80 drones were destroyed over the region. According to him, the attack affected the Bokovsky, Chertkovsky, Verkhnedonskoy, Krasnosulinsky, Kasharsky, Sholokhovsky, and Millerovsky districts.
The Rostov region had also come under attack the previous day. The Ukrainian military stated that the strike hit the "Kamensky Combine," a facility that produces solid rocket fuel and missile systems. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) published photographs they claimed were taken after the attack. The Ukrainian side reported the destruction of two workshops linked to the production of explosives and gunpowder, as well as damage to four others. Russian authorities did not publicly comment on this information.
Attacks were also recorded overnight into August 18 in the Krasnodar Territory and the Volgograd Region. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of drones over these regions, as well as over the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force announced an attack on Ukrainian territory involving 147 Russian drones. According to their data, 111 of them were shot down. The Ukrainian report mentions fatalities and injuries, including a child. The Ukrainian military claims that some of the drones involved in the overnight attack on Ukraine were launched from Russian military facilities in Millerovo (Rostov Region) and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Krasnodar Territory).
