A meeting of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee was held in Moscow, dedicated to countering the spread of terrorist ideology, neo-Nazism, and religious extremism in the North Caucasus Federal District.

At a meeting of the Second Western Military Court in Moscow, a representative of the State Prosecutor requested a life sentence for Dagestan Gazi Isayev, former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kizlyar district. He was accused of aiding and abetting terrorist acts in the Moscow metro. He pleaded not guilty and called all charges false and falsified.
"During the deliberations of the parties, the representative of the State Prosecutor asked to find Isaev guilty of acts of terrorism and participation in an organized criminal community using his official position and to impose a sentence of life imprisonment," said the court.
Earlier, the defendant called the criminal prosecution a revenge for his work in office. According to the investigation, Isaev was a member of the banned terrorist organization «Imarat Caucasus» and provided the criminals with operational information. In addition, in March 2010, he personally drove a suicide bomber to the bus station in Kizlyar, from where she left for Moscow, where she blew up a subway in the capital, killing 39 people.
