European Union Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas stated that the Georgian government's current policies are not aligned with the European Union's direction. The Supreme Court of Ingushetia toughened the sentence of police officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Amiran Merzhoev for beating a disabled pensioner. Instead of four years of suspended imprisonment, the defendant was sentenced to two years in a penal colony.
