EU warned Georgia against circumventing anti-Russian sanctions
EU Chairman Charles Michel noted the efforts of European countries to prevent the circumvention of sanctions against Russia and the importance of such a policy on the part of Tbilisi.
Politicians also discussed the military conflict in Ukraine and its impact on Georgia’s security. Michel confirmed the EU’s full commitment to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. In addition, he expressed concern about the discussion in Georgia of the draft law on "foreign agents".
On March 7 and 8, thousands of protest rallies were held in Tbilisi after the first reading of the draft law on "foreign agents". After that, the ruling party "Georgian Dream" decided to withdraw the law.
