Georgia's ruling Georgian Dream party has appealed to the Constitutional Court to ban the activities of approximately ten opposition political groups.
Another case of "calls for terrorism and extremism": a resident of the KBR was fined

The Nalchik City Court found a 23-year-old resident of the city of Baksan (Kabardino-Balkaria) guilty of calling for terrorism and extremism. The reason was his activity on the Internet. This was reported by RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria", citing data from the FSB of the Russian Federation.
The young man was fined and deprived of the right to engage in activities related to website administration.
The details of the case, in particular the specific episode, the amount of the fine and the period of the ban on website administration, are not disclosed. The relevant articles provide for a fine of up to one million rubles and a ban on an activity determined by the court for up to 3 years.
Criminal cases of calls for terrorism and extremism in Russia often raise concerns among human rights activists due to the broad interpretation of legislative norms and their possible use to restrict freedom of speech. An important aspect is the lack of clarity in the wording of the articles of the Criminal Code, which opens the way for charges based on context or interpretation, rather than on objective evidence of a real threat. As a result, such cases often lead to the persecution of civil society activists, journalists and ordinary Internet users for statements that in other countries might be protected under the right to freedom of expression.
