A court in Stavropol has sentenced five more defendants in the criminal case on the anti-Semitic pogrom at the Makhachkala airport. They were sentenced to 7 to 8 years in a general regime penal colony.
Dzhamal Gadzhiev, Vagab Gadzhiev, Vadim Gadzhiev, Nazhmutdin Gadzhiev and Alibek Gadzhiev were found guilty of participating in mass riots, failure to comply with transport security requirements, and armed resistance to a government official.
Earlier, more than forty defendants in the case were found guilty. They were sentenced to long prison terms. The Investigative Committee stated that 142 people were involved in the crimes. Preliminary investigations have been completed for 135 defendants. Recall that on October 29, 2023, hundreds of people stormed the Makhachkala airport, trying to find passengers on a transit flight from Tel Aviv. Those gathered were protesting against Israel's actions in Palestine.
