Five more participants in the riots at the Makhachkala airport were given long terms
The Stavropol Territory Court sentenced another defendant in the case of the riots at the Makhachkala airport to long prison terms. Ramazan Abdullabekov, Ismail Amirov, Yasin Gadzhiev, Magomedali Omarov and Magomedgadzhi Chirgilaev received from 8 to 10 years.

They were accused of participating in the pogrom at the Makhachkala Uytash airport on October 29, 2023. According to the investigation, the defendants "on the basis of national and religious hatred and enmity towards Israeli citizens, refusing to comply with the legal demands of law enforcement officers, took part in mass riots accompanied by violence and destruction of property."

The defendants were accused of committing crimes under Part 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in mass riots accompanied by violence, pogroms, destruction of property, as well as armed resistance to a government official). Earlier, several dozen people received real terms in the "airport case".

According to the Investigative Committee, 142 people were involved in the crimes. Human rights activists pointed out the bias of the court cases: among the accused there could be those who did not participate in the storming of the airport.

Recall that on October 29, 2023, hundreds of people broke into the Makhachkala airport, trying to find passengers on a transit flight from Tel Aviv. The crowd protested against Israel's actions in Palestine.
