In another district of Moscow they opposed the construction of a mosque

Residents of South Butovo (Moscow) opposed the construction of a mosque on Akhmat Kadyrov Street. The idea of its appearance was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, previously stated.

“The region has a difficult transport infrastructure. And when a mosque appears, this can lead to transport collapse and intense human traffic. Moreover, its construction in the park will deprive the townspeople of a place of recreation,” noted Moscow residents.

Construction of a mosque on the street. Kadyrova will also violate the legitimate interests of citizens, since services in mosques are held using amplifying equipment and a large number of visitors and pilgrims will disturb the peace of others, according to the appeal of local residents to the capital administration.

Recently, Putin called the construction of a mosque in the Patriot Park (a military-patriotic park of culture and recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) a good idea. It was proposed to be built by the Supreme Mufti of Russia Ravil Gainutdin. According to him, the project has already been agreed upon and a resolution has been received from the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Sergei Shoigu.

In April, a scandal broke out regarding the construction of a mosque in Moscow on the shores of the Holy Lake, in the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district. The conflicting parties were local residents and Orthodox activists who opposed such a project. Later, Moscow Mayor Sobyanin announced that the facility would be moved to another location. According to him, after proposals were received from the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill and the Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin, a decision was made to move the construction of the mosque to another place, one and a half kilometers from the Holy Lake. Taking into account the appeals of residents, the capital's mayor said then, the mosque will be located away from residential areas - a plot of land will be allocated for its construction near the Kosino metro station, between the Moscow Ring Road and the future MCD-3.
