FSB conducts searches of Crimean Tatars whose relatives are fighting for Ukraine

Security forces are conducting searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars whose relatives are fighting in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Yesterday, the home of the parents of Ismail Khalikov, who previously held the post of Representative of the Ombudsman for the observance of the rights of residents of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, was subjected to such an inspection. This was reported by human rights activists of the Crimean initiative Irade. As explained by FSB officers, the events are related to information about the man's service in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.

It is noteworthy that this time the legal requirements for conducting a search were observed. The security forces read out the resolution to conduct a search and ensured the actual presence of "representatives of the public." As a result, one mobile phone was seized.
